Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 First Look

Ever since Ferrari has been a mainstream name in supercar-land, the Prancing Horse has always been rivaled by it’s dark and twisted counterpart: Lamborghini. Every new model thusfar has been even more outrageous than the last, but times are changing: Lamborghini has gone Porsche 911 on us: The new Aventador LP700-4 looks stunning, but like with all 911 models from the last 30 years it’s pretty much the same as the car it will be replacing: The Murcielago.

Ahh yes, the Murcielago… A car so cool that when the producers for Batman Forever decided to use it as Bruce Wayne’s mode of transportation, they didn’t have to change a thing to have it look more Batman-ish. In 2009, Lamborghini launched the hyper exclusive Reventón model, which was more or less a concept of what would happen if Bruce Wayne’s Murcielago were to mate with a F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter jet.

It’s obvious now that the Reventón served as the base for the new Aventador as well, as the cars are very similar at first glance. Keep in mind though, the photo above is – as of yet – the only confirmed picture that showcases the new Lambo, so maybe they’ve focused their attention on the back and side profile of the car (right). Plus, to be fair, the Murcielago and the Reventon were so futuristic and out there, it’s definately not a bad thing the new incarnation doesn’t stray too far from the path design-wise.

Like the full name for Lamborghini’s new car suggests, the car’s 6.2L V12 Engine produces 700 BHP which is distributed to all four wheels. We’re going to have to wait a little bit longer for any definitive and more specific performance figures, but as soon as more information arrives MenReport will keep you posted.
